A Change of Season
I always love when the breeze carries just a hint of that cool, fall brisk. Summer is slowly coming to an end and even though you are sitting outside in the early September sun, you know the new season is knocking on the door.
Summer is still my favorite, just by an inch. A self proclaimed mermaid-dolphin (this came out in a Socket podcast and I swear it must be a thing!), I love the heat and sunshine of summer. The sweet corn, the pool, the smell of a fired-up grill cooking dinner, a backyard flame with marshmallows on a stick. But, fall is a little magical too.
Fall brings a renewing of all that is good. Spectacular colors on the trees, pumpkins on your porch, football in the background of your mid-Sunday couch nap, jeans and the most comfy sweatshirt to keep you warm.
This year still feels pretty different. Spring wasn’t exactly spring, summer wasn’t exactly summer and now we head into fall with a level of uncertainty that I have never felt before. It makes my heart a little sad to still be in this space.
But, the change of seasons will always be a happy place of mine. You get to brush off the dust of the last three months and start fresh. New dreams, new goals, new life plans. That always excites me. Kind of like getting new school supplies for a new school year. Man, I used to love a new Trapper Keeper.
Wishing you a good transition into this new chapter of 2020. I’m sending you a whole bunch of fall, pumpkin, apple cider, online-learning, self-renewing positive thoughts.
